User Info: DarthVader DarthVader 9 years ago 1 Level 13 Khajiit right now, been floating between the mercs and brawler followers you can get. User Info: slothica slothica 9 years ago 3 Mjoll the lioness in Riften, although she's going to make you go explore some deep dwarven ruin all the way across the map to get her sword back before she joins you.
User Info: LordMagus LordMagus 9 years ago 9 Cicero is much likely to be a higher level than Mjoll, since I think he gets "re-created" after the DB questline, at which point you will probably be a higher level than when you first entered Riften.
Can't get an animal follower. Dual Casting Bound Bow. Cure Disease Ingredients. All my playthroughs and I've never killed Paarthurnax. To find this confident Khajiit mage, travel to the College of Winterhold and help him test his scrolls.
He has no level cap, which means he continues to level up with the Dragonborn indefinitely. Destruction and Restoration spells are his expertise, making him a great support character for close-combat players. You may find that he will only cast low-level Destruction spells. To fix this, give him adept or higher level staves and he'll be ready for more adventure.
If you are wandering around the docks in Windhelm, you will run into a woman in Imperial armor. She may look strong and capable, but Adelaisa Vendicci is anything but.
If you want to test her out, she is available as a follower after completing "Rise in the East"—though there is little incentive to use her for anything other than a sacrifice for Boethiah. Although she is an Imperial soldier, she is classed as a citizen with a level cap of As one of the weakest characters in the game, Adelaisa is a major disappointment.
This is one character you should leave on the dock of the bay. Players will first meet Durak when he approaches them about recruitment into the Dawnguard, and also gives them a crossbow and 45 steel bolts in Dayspring Canyon. As such, he's easily among the best followers in Skyrim. Durak can be recruited as a follower after completing the Prophet quest and comes with his own Dawnguard armor and war axe, as well as his neverending quest for vengeance. When you first encounter the Nordic werewolf, Farkas, in Jorrvaskr, he appears to be a strong and intimidating warrior, but there's much more than meets the eye.
Although he maxes out his One-Handed skill at his level cap of 50, his Heavy Armor and Block skills never exceed 20 truly ironic, as he is a master-level trainer for the former. The source of Farkas' problems is his blacksmith class, which gives him mastery in non-combative skills such as Smithing and Speech. Also, even though his Light Armor skill is higher, he wears Heavy Armor. Talk about contradictory. Serana, one of the Daughters of Coldharbour , became a pure-blooded vampire by pledging herself to Molag Bal during a terrifying ritual.
Like Mjoll, she is an essential character who cannot be killed; she comes as a part of the Dawnguard DLC. However, she will not have the full set of follower commands until you finish the main Dawnguard questline. A powerful necromancer, Serana's level caps at 50, and she will raise corpses to help in battle.
Outside of combat, Serana is a unique Skyrim follower who can interact with her environment e. If so desired, you can have her bite the Dragonborn to turn them into a Vampire Lord. Even non-Skyrim players know about Lydia and her antics. You meet your first housecarl early in the game at Dragonsreach after killing your first dragon.
If you decided to help Sven out back in Riverwood, you are likely desperate for a new companion at this point, especially a warrior-classed one in steel armor and ready to fight. You may be happy to take her along, but soon notice little annoyances like her attitude or the way she refuses to follow you down the mountainside, seeking out a safer path instead. She seems determined to block every door, set off every trap, and get caught sneaking around.
That made me hate her Sure, she's not near as cute as Lydia, but she's got better armor Steel Plate and weapon and actually gives you gold to hire as a follower. She 1 shots most normal mobs and can take a beating. I'm a huge fan of Mjoll the Lioness. She's got that "grizzled Veteran" feel Feels like more of an equal than a follower , and seems to be a lot more spiritual and contemplative than Lydia.
Also, apparently Mjoll has better stats, but that's unconfirmed. Mjoll and Marcurio frequently share personal thoughts on all kinds of things. Makes for more entertaining travelling in my opinion. Aranea has always been a favourite of mine. At the end of Azura's quest, the Daedric prince stops giving her visions, as her fate has been fulfilled and she's quite broken up about it.
Farkas is great in this regard as well. As far as 'friends' go in this game, he's probably the closest thing one will get. Pity he's so useless in combat. Farkas can be obtained before joining the Companions by dropping a piece of armour in front of him while he's sitting in the courtyard of Jorrvaskr he usually does so from morning until noon.
Although I do believe that unless the armour in question is better than what he's already wearing, he'll only give it back to the player without asking if he can keep it. A way around this is to drop any helmet, since he doesn't own one by default. Lydia and Serana will be available by simply following two main questlines the Skyrim main and the Dawnguard main.
This one is tough, as it depends on how one plays. Aranea is a very capable mage and doesn't get 'killed' easily. She seems to have very high magicka as well, as I have hardly ever seen her draw a weapon. Marcurio is a good mage as well and I have got the impression that he has higher AI than most followers since he seems to adjust his school of magic depending on which foe he's facing. Against dwemer robots he often uses fire.
Serana is very good too and of course she comes with the benefit of being essential. That's a bit of a necessity, since she has a tendency of getting in the way at least in my game. But she makes up for it by being familiar with very strong spells. To sum it up: Aranea is my favourite.
