Should i take wild wasteland trait
It resembles a cowboy hat and will give the wearer a bonus of 1 to Perception. Interestingly, and typical to fallout, this hat is a direct reference to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in which Indy survives a nuclear blast while inside a led fridge. Many think of Fallout as a serious open-world RPG, but more than likely even more fans see it as a rather glitchy and silly game filled with references, hilarious encounters, and just brilliant storylines and quests.
This is exactly the reason that many choose to play with the Wild Wasteland trait, especially since it gives 22 new encounters, filled with graffiti linked to WWII, aliens, and Granny muggers. Each provides the player with an experience they would have otherwise missed and will certainly entertain even the most serious of players.
Interestingly, there were a fair few developers who wanted Fallout New Vegas to be a more serious and well-produced game. And with Obsidian at the helm, Wild Wasteland was a saving grace for the original creators.
Ultimately, the trait ended up being a compromise between the members of the creative team who had a difference in opinion regarding the wacky content and the serious gameplay. After its release, many fans welcomed the trait and its craziness, especially since it's optional. This trait played a sizable part in the players' overwhelming love for Fallout New Vegas. If fans were made to vote on their favorite Fallou t game , it would certainly be close, but Fallout New Vegas would hit the top spot.
When speaking to Dr. Mobius , he will mention having to implement Plan 9. Without the trait, he says "Plan C. On the wall is a piece of graffiti that reads "Kilroy was here. A petrified corpse of a dog named Seymour can be found in the Cave of the Abaddon on the right side from the entrance next to Sunflower Summers ' corpse on top of a turned over cabinet. The credits appear differently with the trait, listed in the game files as " CreditsWacky.

If you want the perk, get it for the humor. IMO it far outweighs the fairly minor gameplay changes, which I'm sure is intentional. It's basically one gun difference, plus a few mininukes, and if you're like me you never even use "too good to use" consumable items like that anyway.
If you do get the perk, you can get one then the other with console codes on the PC, that would be the only way to get both, considering I have both. To acquire both of the weapons and extra ammo for the Alien Blaster , you can use player. I never take it. One to two sneak crits will kill every legendary creature in the game.
It is the ultimate sniper platform in the game and the unique laser pistol Pew Pew with the high crit chance attainable for laser weaponry through perks and challenges is comparable to the Alien Blaster in terms of killing power.
Well there's a glitch that allows you to use any ammo for the alien blaster so its definitely worth it. Either way, you'll eventually be an overpowered demi-god, so an additional char buff perk doesn't ultimately add nuff. Some use the YCS as an argument The trait adds content. You'll still kick ass. FFS, Vegas is accessible on level 1 and you're being picky about some damn trait as if it's a life-and-death matter.
I think the trait is good if you like to have a good time and don't care about the serious tone that immerses you into the game. I f you want to play the game properly and complete the main mission and all, then the trait might not be for you. But if you don't really care about the quests and just want to wander the mojave to just see what you stumble across, then you might want it.

Like it seems you would actually be missing out on stuff if you didn't take the perk. Does it mess up the main story or something?

User Info: neepwah neepwah 11 years ago 4 It changes some dialogue for certain interactions and such, as well as adding the others but the only reason to not take it is if you want a different experience, or to take a different trait.

User Info: Holmra Holmra 11 years ago 7 I'm so glad they set up the character creation with the 2 perk picking at the beginning just like FO1 and FO2, this game reminds me so much of it, takes the good of FO3 and combines it with the greatness of the early fallout games challenge in many aspects and it gives you more replayability without dlc even.
User Info: Orson Orson 11 years ago 9 Wild wastelander also unlocks some cool nifty grenades I still got the official Prima Games strategy guide for this. Is Fallout new Vegas The Best in the series? What are some choices you always make in every play-through?
